Floating in a turquoise pool of the White River

Why “White”?

Water so clear it shimmers in turquoise and milky white.

The Bijela, meaning “white”, is named for its colour. It springs from beneath Prenj, the mountain often called the “Bosnian Himalayas”, and its canyon is a chain of small waterfalls, deep pools and smooth rock carved by water over thousands of years.
